PERFUMER. MOTHER. MUSICIAN.
CREATOR OF THE FRAGRANCE.
“I wanted to create a fragrance that would express the many facets of a woman... a celebration of their strength, passion, patience and tenderness.”
– Anne Flipo
Master perfumer Anne Flipo, the creator of Donna’s new fragrance “Woman,” has a long resume of collaborations on world renowned scents, including those for Lanvin, YSL, Giorgio Armani, Paco Rabanne and Lancome. Sensitive and delicate, Anne’s fragrances are born from her passion for flowers and gardens, which Anne traces back to her childhood in Picardy, France. “I learned about nature there, and the rudiments of a way of living made up of simple pleasures,” Anne says. Today at IFF, she refines her knowhow, learning high-tech materials and mastering composition: “I finally let go…I feel more serene trusting my intuition.” Anne’s intuition has also led her to become involved with Batali, a French charity created by three sisters, dedicated to children’s education in developing countries. They’ve chosen Central Africa, one of the poorest countries of all, to build schools, bring learning material and improve the living conditions of the local population. Anne couldn’t resist. “As a woman and mother, I am always very touched by kids,” says Anne. “My friend Isabelle Turquin, one of Batali’s creators, loves to tell me about Batali’s adventures, actions and progresses. She loves to share anecdotes about the kids. All those stories made me join the organization as a donator and I hope that this little action, associated with others, will make a difference.”
