BIOGRAPHY | Emma stands up for the rights of voiceless women sold into the sex trade. As chairperson of the Helen Bamber Foundation, Thompson helps rebuild the lives of survivors of human rights violations, and she recently co-curated the interactive art exhibit "Journey,” which illustrates the brutal and harrowing experiences of human trafficking victims. "I have listened to stories of these survivors and it has convinced me that none of us knows the full extent of this scourge and, furthermore, none of us should rest until it is eradicated,” she says. Thompson is also an Ambassador for the international development agency, ActionAid, and serves as President of the United Kingdom’s Teaching Awards, which recognizes teachers who help students realize their full potential.
