BIOGRAPHY | Cornelia loves animals of every kind. She sits on the board of the Humane Society of New York and is active with the Humane Society of the United States and the Farm Sanctuary. In addition to being an animal rights advocate and champion, Cornelia is passionately committed to animal rescue sanctuaries and animal therapy work, starting with bringing her big, white dog, Bear, into hospitals. Cornelia credits her devotion to animals to her equestrian-centric upbringing. It was while working with horses and handicapped kids that Cornelia discovered an animal’s therapeutic powers. Cornelia shops for her Donna Karan clothes at Donna’s New York flagship store.
