BIOGRAPHY | Wife, mother, philanthropist, these are just a few of the adjectives that can be used to describe Marjorie Harvey. Known to many as the beautiful and stylish wife of superstar comedian, TV/radio personality and best-selling author, Steve Harvey, Marjorie Harvey is also a woman intent on helping our youth learn, thrive and become their absolute best.

As a devoted mother to seven, Mrs. Harvey is keenly aware of the importance of education and the unique issues that young people are facing today. She has long since devoted her time and energy to various non-profit causes and organizations, but was determined to do more.

So a few years ago, she and Steve Harvey founded The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation (SMHF) to establish programs nationally and internationally, committed to fostering excellence in the lives of children and their families. The key SMHF initiatives address education, health and social well-being.

One of the signature programs that the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation created is "Girls Who Rule the World (GWRTW)," an annual mentoring weekend for 100 young girls ages 13-18 residing in Atlanta, Georgia and surrounding areas. This program helps girls develop skill sets to navigate through issues of self-esteem, financial literacy, health and wellness, and professional and educational development. The goal of this initiative is to help prepare these young women, with the support of responsible corporate business executives and community leaders, to become skilled and productive minority leaders within their community and workforce.

In addition to heading up the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, Marjorie Harvey has established a Scholarship and Endowment Fund at Spelman College. The scholarship is available to female juniors and seniors who are at risk of not completing their degrees due to a disruption in personal funding. She has also personally endowed single mothers who are seeking to further their education with full scholarships.

Currently, Mrs. Harvey dedicates much of her time supporting the charitable initiatives of her husband Steve Harvey, which include, the annual Steve Harvey Mentoring Weekend for Young Men, Disney's Dreamers Academy and The Neighborhood Awards.

When talking about the foundation and "Girls Who Rule the World" Mrs. Harvey says, "Our children are so important to me and their futures are in our hands. It is our responsibility to help mold them into the best human beings they can be, through education, mentorship and providing the right examples and tools. That's what I'm passionate about and I am so thankful that I am in a position to do that."
